Great mapo, spicy cucumbers, and crispy Szechuan chicken. A little intimidating for our first visit to Flushing to see turtles and frogs on the menu, but it was actually really accessible and the staff were super nice. Can't wait to go again!

This Sichuan restaurant has been in New York for several years. While it may not advertise as aggressively as some newer spots, it remains one of the best places for authentic Sichuan cuisine. The flavors are genuinely traditional, offering a rich complexity beyond just spiciness, truly capturing the essence of Sichuan food. Their menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Sichuan and other Chinese dishes, making it feel like a culinary museum where you can explore different flavors of Chinese cuisine. In addition to the food, their service and dining environment are also commendable, making it a great place for Sichuan food lovers and gatherings with friends.

I will rate this place somewhere between three and four. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were courteous and friendly, well deserved 5-star rating. The food is a hit and miss. You need to know what to order in this place, otherwise, the dining experience could be unpleasant to your palates. The ribs in the cage looked fun but not impressive while eating them. The bathrooms were super unpleasant. It is a publicly shared bathroom and is poorly managed.

An authentic and amazing Sichuan style restaurant! We attended our friends’ marriage dinner here. The servers were professional and friendly. The dining room was huge with several rooms and large tables. For the food, some dishes really impressed me, which could be the best Chinese dishes that I have ever had. Highly recommend the spicy ducks, boiled fish, lobsters, and lotus roots (I could not remember others). Everything tasted authentic and delicious with some chefs’ innovation.

Came here multiple times as a kid whenever my mom took me to Flushing. This time, I came back with friends and the food is still as great as always. Service was phenomenal, super welcoming staff, we had the window seat so the view was amazing, they also have different spice levels as well which is SUPER accommodating. DAXI is definitely a great place to host lunch or dinner if you want some authentic sichuan cuisine that isn’t too spicy.

Went to this restaurant with a party of ~15 people, and as expected the cost was high. The waitresses are nice and the food served was good, but with so many people, it was hard to tell what was going on. Overall though, some dishes were amazing and I highly recommend the lamb chops. Beware though, most dishes here are spicy.

my favorite go to place in flushing when I’m not sure what to eat or just eating out with friends and family. Their portions are good for a fair price point. I always get the same dishes and it never fails to disappoint!!! My favorites would be the fried spicy pork with shrimp, the mushroom vegetables dish and the cold spicy chicken. Just note that majority of the dishes are spicy since Szechuan is known for their spicy mala cuisine. So don’t complain about it if you can’t handle it!!
